Jonathan is fourth generation in the fruit industry which he joined in 1976. He started in the family business, Louis Reece, as a salesman in the wholesale markets. He progressed after five years to become an importer/distributor . After the family business was sold he joined Poupart in 1987 and set up Poupart Imports in 1998 to concentrate in the non-supermarket sector. He specialises in procuring a wide range of out-of-season produce from South America and South Africa
Paul has over 20 years of experience in the fresh fruit industry. He learnt his trade in Birmingham Wholesale Market for 18 years before switching to the import side of the industry in 2006.
Peter has been involved in the Fresh Produce industry since 1983 and started work with his grandfather in Stratford Market. He moved to New Covent Garden and after 6 years in the wholesale sector decided to move to the Importing side of the business. Peter joined us in 2016 to support Paul Rowe in developing the Salad and Vegetable division.
Nick has been in the produce business since 1984 but has concentrated on soft fruit for the last 23 years .His first 7 years were spent at American Fruit Importers as sales manager with the last 17 years at Berry Gardens as Procurement Director and later as Sales Director after a big expansion in the business. He has joined Poupart Imports to develop our soft fruit business.
Brian has been linked to the fresh produce industry since 1976. He spent 20 years working for the Outspan Organisation and Citrus Industry based in South Africa, before moving to the UK in 2000 with Capespan.
John started working with Capespan in 1988; working in a variety of roles including procurement, account management, new business development and business transformation projects.
He is focused on developing UK opportunities in both sales and procurement.
Carl has been in the fresh fruit industry since 1990. He spent 7 years learning his trade in Birmingham’s wholesale market before turning his attention to the importing side of the business. He worked for Capespan and Compagnie Frutière before he came to Poupart in 2006. Carl is general manager in our Spanish office in Figueres, near Girona. His current role is to develop new European business and increase sales into the UK market. Carl speaks Italian and Spanish.
Ron started in the fruit trade in 1965 working as a salesman in the London markets. He then learnt foreign languages and can speak French, German, Italian and Spanish which helped him in his next role working for a UK import company in Germany. In 1976 he set up his own export company in Perpignan, France selling apples to the UK. His current role is procuring European stone fruit for Poupart.
Carl started in the fruit trade with Poupart Valencia in 1992 looking after Poupart Citrus’s Supermarket programmes. He then worked for MBM and Total Produce procuring Fruit and Veg for the retail and service sector. Fluent in Spanish, he has latterly spent several years running his own export company, as well as consultancy roles. He has been based in Valencia for 24 years, specialising in Citrus, Stone Fruit and Melons
Txell is native to Figueres and spent 5 years living and working in the UK before returning to Spain. She speaks fluent English, Spanish and Catalan. Txell spent 5 years studying and working in a tax and HR management company before joining the Poupart Figueres logistics department in 2013. In 2016 she moved over to the trading desk. In her current role Txell deals with sales and procurement – primarily of citrus, grapes and persimmons.
Michael is fourth generation of his family to work in the Produce industry. He started work in 2012 working for his father at DG Fruit selling to secondary wholesalers and supplying back-up to the admin department. In 2014, he moved to Spitalfields market where he gained practical experience and a useful product knowledge. Michael joins as a Junior Salesman and administrator.
Maria studied economics at university and speaks fluent English, Spanish, French and Catalan. She worked in the food retail and banking sectors before joining Poupart Figueres in 2013 as part of the logistics team. Since then she has transferred to sales and now deals regularly with customers and suppliers, focusing on European apples and exotics.
